Paternity & Relationship DNA Collection
ProActive Testing Solutions provides professional, mobile DNA specimen collection throughout Maryland for individuals and families establishing or confirming biological relationships. Relationship testing available through our AABB-accredited laboratory partner includes paternity, maternity, sibling, grandparent, twin, and family reconstruction (used when a key relative isn't available to test). ProActive performs the collection; the AABB-accredited laboratory performs the analysis and issues the report.
Choose the Collection Type That Fits Your Needs

Legal DNA Collection
For relationship testing intended for court, government, or other official use. Collection includes government-issued photo ID verification, photographs of participants, documented chain of custody, and specimen handling that follows the AABB-accredited laboratory's chain-of-custody requirements exactly.
Common uses include legal paternity, maternity, sibling, and grandparent testing, child support and custody matters, birth certificate amendments, estate and inheritance claims, and other proceedings where documented chain of custody is required.

All participants must be identified and documented. Collections can be arranged at separate locations or times when participants aren't together.

Private Peace-of-Mind DNA Collection
For individuals and families who want relationship information for their own knowledge. These collections are private and non-legal, and do not use the controlled chain-of-custody process required for official testing. Results from a peace-of-mind collection are not admissible in court and cannot be converted to legal results afterward — if there's any chance you'll need this for a legal matter, choose the legal collection instead.
What to Expect
1. Tell us what you need.
Complete the DNA Collection Request form. We'll confirm whether a legal or peace-of-mind collection fits your situation and what documentation each participant needs.
2. We come to you.
Collections are performed at your home, office, attorney's office, or another agreed location anywhere in Maryland, by appointment.
3. Bring identification.
Adults need government-issued photo ID for legal collections. Minors need a birth certificate, and a parent or legal guardian must be present and consent to the collection.
4. The laboratory reports your results.
Specimens go to the accredited laboratory, which performs the analysis and issues the report directly to the authorized parties. ProActive does not analyze specimens or issue results.

Immigration DNA Collection
Specimen collection for immigration DNA testing is performed only when directed by the AABB-accredited relationship-testing facility handling the case. Please note that immigration DNA cases must be initiated directly with the accredited facility before collection is scheduled with ProActive Testing Solutions. ProActive is a collection service provider and does not initiate, approve, or control the immigration testing process.
